Pee Wee Tigers fall to Okeene, JH wins opener over Whippets
Three days after the Canton High School team kicked off their season with a win over Okeene, it was the pee wee and junior team’s turn to open their season against the Whippets at home. While storm clouds circled for the majority of the night on Monday, it managed to stay dry as the pee wee team fell 38-0, while the high school team won 24 -8.
In the pee wee game, the Tigers watched as Okeene’s offense took the opening drive down the field for a touchdown, and that turned into the theme of the night. Canton struggled to slow down the Whippets’ offense, and despite a few big plays on offense, failed to put together their own drives that resulted in points.
Preston Foster broke off a 20-yard run on Canton’s first offensive snap, while also leading the Tigers in tackles with four in the contest. Caden Hooten rushed twice for 17 yards while Camden Dossey ran three times for 10 yards and added a tackle on defense.
