Canton playoff hopes on line against Turpin

With only an away game against the top team in Class B following this Friday’s matchup against Turpin, there is no secret about how important this week is for Canton. The Cardinals are fresh off an upset victory against formerly-undefeated Seiling, and a win this Friday would guarantee a playoff spot for them, while eliminating the Tigers.

However, Canton is riding a streak of confidence themselves. Coming off a bye week that provided extra time to prepare for what is expected to be their best chance at a victory in district play, the Tigers could partially be to thank for Turpin’s victory over Seiling.

Canton gave Seiling their most-physical contest of the season two weeks ago, in a game that forced the Wildcats to play without star running back/linebacker Brock Hedrick against Turpin. Needless to say, Coach Jeremy Brashears and the Tigers will be looking for their own upset on Senior Night in Canton.
