Lady Tigers putting in work on Open Gym Nights

Last week, the Coach David Baldwin opened the gym back up to the Lady Tigers for Open Gym Night after two weeks of being closed. Over a typical summer, Coach Baldwin would have taken his basketball teams to a variety of team camps and tournaments, as well as holding a skills camp with boys’ coach, Patrick Rich.

However, this summer has been anything but typical thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like most schools, Canton has chosen not to participate in any off-campus team activities, limiting the Lady Tigers summer work to only the Open Gym Nights that Coach Baldwin puts on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights.

“We are not in great shape, but I doubt anyone is right now,” explained Baldwin. “It’s great to get them back going. We are getting up and down the court. Our older girls are taking charge. Everyone is having fun, and it’s good to see them shooting the ball.”
