Firemen let go from Longdale Volunteer Fire Department
The Longdale Town Board met for their regular meeting on Tuesday, July 10. Answering roll call were Nina Sullivan, Mike Colvard, Martha Berry and Don Mooney. Robyn Longpine was absent.
It was a full house, and several members of the Longdale Volunteer Fire Dept. were present for the meeting.
Mayor Sullivan brought up to Fire Chief Tyler Pembrook that they didn’t know that fire trucks had been worked on until a bill came in for payment. Also, the town did not know that the fire dept. had picked up the command truck (paid for by county tax money) until the County Commissioner contacted them. One problem is that the truck is the wrong color; the commissioner said that wasn’t a problem, and they could also fix the windshield and the broken mirror. The final word from the mayor is that the board should not be kept in the dark again. She also requested that any repairs that needed to be made on any of the fire dept. trucks should be brought to the board for approval before doing repairs.
