Teachers, parents and students, preparing for 2019-2020 school year

The face of back to school has changed a great deal since most of us were children. Whereas public and private schooling were effectively the only options, today homeschools and virtual schools have been added to the mix. Even so, the start of the new school year is still largely the same for each form of schooling.

One difference is found in school guidelines. With the changing times, comes changing requirements for public and private schools. Whereas it was once against the rules to have such appearances as tattoos, dyed hair, and piercings, many public schools no longer consider those things taboo. Individuality, clothing styles and personal possessions have also changed with the times. For this reason, so have the dress codes and allowances regarding what items students can have with them while on school grounds for various public schools. This means that children, parents, and teachers might find it helpful to read yearly handbooks that are available in schools. These handbooks explain the guidelines for the given school, and they can remove any doubt or confusion about what is acceptable and what is not.
