Teachers’ contributions last a lifetime
As a child summer vacation always seemed to flash bye in a blink of an eye. Oh there was always the excitement of seeing all of your friends again, but all that play time of summer was just hard to wish it over. Most of our area schools have just begun a new school year. Children everywhere are both scared and excited. A new year, a new grade, and a new teacher. Teacher’s impact on children’s lives is profound. You never forget them! I still can name all of my elementary teachers. Mrs. Hart in first grade,
Mrs. Laubhan in second grade, Mrs. Boeckman in third grade, Mrs. Daniels in fourth grade, Mrs. Hoffman in fifth grade, and Mrs. Holbrook in sixth grade. Mrs. Hoffman happened to be our assistant in first grade. She was still a college student then and she really liked to chew gum. My friend Todd Reinart and I had to remind her a couple of times that Mrs. Hart doesn’t let us chew gum in class. I loved all of my teachers because I knew they loved me. I also respected my teachers because they demanded the same and so did my parents.
