Top Five Sports Moments for 2019-20 School Year; Scott’s buzz-beater downs No. 5 Hydro-Eakly

In the final installment of the five-part series revisiting the top sports moments for the Tigers over the last year, we got back to December when a last-second tip in helped propel Canton to a major upset. Coming off their hometown Gayle Hajny Invitational, the high school boys were gearing up for their third-straight game against a ranked opponent in the Hydro-Eakly Bobcats.

At 4-2, the Tigers were still in the early phase of their season, while Hydro-Eakly came in at 9-1, coming off their first loss of the year in the Championship Game of Canton’s tournament. After beating 13th-ranked Lomega in the third-place game of their tournament, Canton was also very confident with the Bobcats coming to town.

Not only was their prior win fueling their determination, but memories of defeating Hydro-Eakly on their home floor the prior season to take home the District Championship was also adding to their momentum.
