Tigers gridiron season ends with loss to Shattuck
Last Friday, the Canton Tigers took on the Shattuck Indians, who are well on their way to winning a 10th State Championship since 2003. Coach Jeremy Brashears saw his first season as coach in Canton end with a 56-8 thud against the topranked team in the class.
Still, 2018 was a season of change for the Canton Tigers, and for Brashears, he saw evidence of those changes even in one of their worst losses.
“We knew the outcome was probably going to be going into this game,” said Brashears. “That is an incredible team. We set some goals that we thought we could achieve. We didn’t get to them but we wanted to score 23 points on them which was more than anyone else had. Still, we did move the ball. We got some first downs, and we scored on them which is more than some of their other opponents can say.”
