Tigers fall to Turpin, eye Shattuck in finale
With Canton now eliminated from playoff contention, Friday night’s seasonfinale against the top-ranked Shattuck Indians may seem like a formality, but Jeremy Brashears and the Tigers don’t see it that way.
Part of escaping the past of a team that was 1-29 the prior three seasons to Brashears arriving, has become changing the culture of the program. Brashears has made no secret of those intentions, and that won’t change for the final week of the season.
“Competing was always the first step in this process,” explained Brashears. “I’m not saying that we don’t have to continue to get better, but Rome was built in a day. Looking back at our first couple of games against Mt. View and Geary compared to the last two against Seiling and Turpin, I see that progression in how we are competing, and that is what I want this week.”
