School Officials Continue Working Despite Days Off for Students

Anisa’s Country Adventures

This winter started off more wet than cold, but we are making up for it now. Recent weather conditions have brought snow and ice to our area, and Old Man Winter does not look like he will be letting up quite yet. As the weather has gone from warm to cold, to warm again, and then back to cold, it is leaving many people sick and interfering with events on many levels.

Already this year we are seeing many children missing school and many adults missing work from the bugs and viruses that are running rampant within schools, the workplace and families. Flu shots are being administered and reminders to wash hands regularly are being given out as doctors and teachers try to stem the flow of germs. Across the state, some schools have closed as officials sanitize in efforts to help lessen the numbers of those getting sick.

Aside from the bugs going around, the weather has caused many other problems. Inclement weather has resulted in school closings or schools starting their day later than usual. Sporting events and other school activities have also been cancelled or postponed due to icy conditions.
