Seth Bromlow and Connor Cox converge to bring down the Seiling running back. The two both helped fill in for the injured Luke Swartwood, while also being two of the Tigers leading tacklers on defense.
Rough second half dooms Canton Tigers in Seiling
After winning each of their first three games, the Canton Tigers have now dropped three in a row after losing to Seiling in their district-opener last Friday. The two teams played each other tough in the first half, but a string of unfortunate results in the third quarter saw Canton fall by a score 34-18 to the Wildcats.
Without starting quarterback Luke Swartwood, Canton started off slow, and it was Seiling who was able to strike first with a touchdown late in the opening quarter. Canton was able to put together a ten-play drive of their own to get to the Wildcats’ goal line, but when an errant snap sailed over Connor Cox’s head, Seiling recovered to keep the Tigers off the board.
Still, Canton would force a punt and on the fifth play of the ensuing drive, Ethan Foster was able to make a tremendous catch over the top of the defensive back for a 29-yard touchdown catch. That knotted the game of up at 6-6 in the second quarter, but the Tigers would make an unfortunate mistake before halftime.
