Lady Whippets go unbeaten
This weekend, the Lady Whippets will host Erick and Deer Creek-Lamont in the District Round of the playoffs. However, first Okeene needed to close out the regular season with three games against Cherokee, Timberlake and Ringwood, and they did so in grand fashion.
Not only did the Lady Whippets sweep the week, but they pushed their win total to 14 and have now won 12 of their last 13 contests. They kicked off the week in Cherokee against the 14-1 Lady Chiefs.
However, Okeene would not be intimidated by the Lady Chiefs’ record as they jumped out to an early advantage thanks to five points apiece from Katelyn Penner and Hope Swart. The Lady Whippets managed to hold on to a slight two-point lead at the half, and despite only having six girls suited up for the game, Okeene never let their lead get away from that point forward.
