Junior high closes with blowout of Corn Bible
The Canton Junior High football team closed out their season last Monday with a game against the Corn Bible Academy Crusaders. While Coach Caleb Howell was unable to attend the game due to the birth of his first child, the Tigers went on to dominate the contest to the tune of a 38-0.
In the first half, Canton seemed to score every time they touched the ball. J.J. Ibarra started the game by returning the opening kick 70 yards for a touchdown to put the Tigers up 8-0. The Crusaders went on to fumble their first snap and Hayden Thompson recovered to give Canton the ball back.
On the very next play, Jeremiah Littlethunder took a sweep around the left side for a 40-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 16-0. After the Tigers thwarted another drive by Corn Bible Academy, Canton decided to put the ball in the air in the passing game.
