Canton gridders named to All-District squad

Football season has been over for Canton High School for over a month, but a number of Tigers got some good news from Coach Jeremy Brashears. With State Championships concluding, District B-1 All-District Selections were announced, headlined by seniors Deonte Murray and Charlie Moldrup being named to the All-District Offense.

Moldrup was stalwart up the middle on both sides of the ball. As the teams nose tackle, he collected 35 tackles, while assisting on 10 more and recovering a pair of fumbles. As a center, where Moldrup was awarded All-District, he helped pave the way for a rushing attack that compiled 1769 rushing yards at 4.4 yards per carry.

Canton was one of the most physical teams in the district on both sides of the ball, and that started with Moldrup up front. Murray was awarded as an end/ receiver, after catching 19 passes for 278 yards and a touchdown.
