Canton girls 3rd, boys take 5th at Ringwood

The temperatures may have dipped into the 40’s last Thursday but that didn’t keep the Canton High School track team from competing in Ringwood. The meet designed for only schools that take part in 8-man football, turned out to be a huge success for Canton, as the boys finished fifth and the girls won third.

In the girls third-place effort, the Lady Tigers earned a total of 87 points led by Jenny Delgado. Delgado put up 24 points with three secondplace finishes in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles, as well as the long jump.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Delgado’s time of 19:30 seconds was nearly a full second ahead of the next competitor. Teammate, Hannah Noble also placed in the race, taking fourth with a time of 20.63.
