Canton athletes participate in Summer Pride Workouts
As July approaches, Canton’s athletes are entering a new phase of their summer schedules. For football players, the pads are hung up. Spring football and team camps are in the past, and fall practices won’t start until August.
For those on the girls and boys’ basketball teams, Summer Leagues are wrapping up, and team activities won’t resume until midway through the fall.
The time of getting better in zone coverage or becoming more consistent in the pick and roll has come to temporary halt, but that doesn’t mean the coaches of Canton are spending their days relaxing by the pool or out at Canton Lake with a fishing rod in their hand. Instead they are at the school, offering their athletes every opportunity to get better before the school year starts.
Coach Jeremy Brashears has established the schools Summer Pride workouts for all athletes from the seventh grade and up. With the help of Coach Davey Smith and Patrick Rich, these workouts are geared toward helping the kids become betteroverall athletes.
