After tough week, Canton rebounds to defeat Waukomis to improve to 4-2

Last week was a crazy one for the Canton Tigers’ football team. Still, Friday came and they had a game to play against the Waukomis Chiefs. After finding out that Jeremy Brashears would no longer be the team’s head coach on Monday, there was lots of uncertainty surrounding the team, yet the coaches and players were able to come together and grind out a victory over Waukomis to improve to 4-2 heading into district play.

“Our goal is the same as it was in spring ball,” Coach Caleb Howell stated early in the week. “I hate what happened. However, we have to move on and do what’s best for our team. We are rolling pretty good right now. I feel like Waukomis is a game we can get back on track with, but no matter the opportunity we have to go in the week and prepare to win. These are teenagers, and they are all going to take this on differently. On the same note, we have been focused on us, and we are all going to work together.”
