Canton students combine art, school pride to touch up parking lot painting
The Canton High School students, along with a few from the junior high put their artistic skills to the test as they gave the Tiger logo in the parking lot a much-needed facelift. The idea was initially Principal Adam McPhail’s, who got together with art teacher Patti Morgan, and locked down a schedule for the students to get the work done during their time in Morgan’s class, as well as some additional work in their after-school program.
“Principal McPhail told me he wanted to try and get it done before the first home game,” said Morgan. “I thought it was a wonderful idea. This is very helpful for these students, because it presents a different kind of learning. Maybe they are in sports or on an academic team, or not, but they came together for a common goal that pushed them to be creative, and to follow through on what a project of this scale and magnitude requires.”
