My heroes haven’t always been cowboys
My great-grandfather could likely fit the quintessential definition of an American cowboy.
He was a pioneer Scotch-Irish rancher who raised ten kids and a lot of Hereford cattle from the ranch he founded in 1900 near Trail.
I only know of him from stories told and his portrait that hangs in the foyer of my parent’s house.
