Snow plummeted western Oklahoma last month. The snow was welcomed moisture by area farmers and made for some nice photography opportunities as well. This photo of an old farm homestead located north of Okeene was sent to us by Kim Jech, formerly Westfahl.

Canton Elementary to host benefit lunch for Hooten

Following the tragic circumstances that came about to Canton-native Bailey Hooten, the Canton Child Study Club and Elementary will be hosting a benefit luncheon for Hooten this Saturday, December 20. Hooten was finally able to come home last weekend after 34 days and ten surgeries to treat a case of necrotizing fasciitis, a flesh-eating disease caused by Group A streptococcus, the bacteria that often causes strep throat.
