Wind Farms Affected by Wildfires
Wildfires have been raging across northwest Oklahoma since Thursday, April 12. Among the many people and businesses affected was NextEra Energy Resources.
The Oklahoma Wind Energy Center in Woodward, Okla. went offline Thursday evening. Three of the 68 turbines in the project were damaged by the fires. Several of the poles along the transmission lines were also damaged. All employees were reported as safe in the affected area, and NextEra hopes to have the project back online by the end of the month.
