Tami Adams Managing Editor
Voters in the Canton Public School District turned out last Tuesday to show overwhelming support of the $3.1M school bond, passing the proposition with 69.49% of votes in favor, easily surpassing the 60% super majority required for school bonds to pass.
This was the second attempt at passing the bond that will allow the district to build a new field house, install new lights and poles at the football stadium, replace the roof on the north wing of the high school, expand the Vocational Agriculture building, and add additional playground equipment and fencing to the elementary playground, among other upkeep and improvement items.
