Stitt defeats Cornett in runoff election

Tulsa businessman Kevin Stitt soundly defeated former Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett last week in the GOP runoff election.

Statewide Stitt received 164,892 votes (54.56%) versus Cornett’s 137,316 votes (45.44%) as GOP voters chose to embrace Stitt’s upbeat optimistic message for change in Oklahoma.
