Senate Trial Looms, Impeachment Battle Continues Along Party Lines
Congress has turned the lights out on 2019, meaning the new congressional decade will begin with the continuation of the partisan impeachment battle.
As it stands the House of Representatives charged President Trump with obstruction of congress and abuse of power by the votes of 229-198 and 230-197, respectively. All Republicans voted against both articles, while two Democrats joined in opposition of the abuse of power charge and three voted against obstruction of congress.
