Oklahoma! Interactive performed for Canton Schools

Devon Energy presented Lyric Theatre’s Oklahoma! Interactive to Canton Public Schools last Wednesday. The troupe travels across the state bringing the arts to students in over 100 schools each year. The performance was completely interactive, allowing the students to take part through joining the performers on-stage and answering questions from the audience for prizes.

Actress Jennifer Teel spoke about the program.

“The Interactive program started in 2007 with the centennial of Oklahoma becoming a state,” Teel stated. “The program is all about integrating not only history but also musical Theatre, trying to lean toward Oklahoma figures… Will Rogers, Annie Oakley, to give a couple of examples… We’ve done Will Rogers’ follies. We’ve done Annie Get Your Gun.”
