Cash for Christmas winners, Town Board meets
Plenty of activities took place in Canton during days heading up to holidays, including the Annual Cash for Christmas main event along with the Town Board of Trustees Meeting.
The Canton Cash for Christmas placed another successful year in the books. With several merchants participating, three cash prizes were drawn for three lucky winners. Sarah Parker won $50, Angela Jones took $100, and Cheryl Martin claimed the top prize of $250. Congratulations to all three winners! In addition to the cash drawings, Santa was onhand to hand out candy to children and adults.
Canton Public Schools’ music teacher Alison Clark led the Junior/Senior High Canton Tiger Choir in Christmas carols as the community Christmas tree was lit. The tree, a Virginia Pine, was donated by COVIA Sand plant. Active member of the community, Troy Everett, spearheaded a drive for donations to move and plant the tree, and thanks to the generous donations of many people, enough money was raised for these efforts as well as to light and decorate the tree once it was in place. Canton Chamber of Commerce invited residents to participate in decorating the tree after the lights were put on, and the entire community came together to make the tree special.
