Canton Board considers new housing for Police
Canton Board of Trustees gathered Tuesday, Mar. 21, for a special meeting to discuss moving the local police department into the old medical building on Main Street.
In order to make the move the building requires remodeling and renovations to accommodate the department’s needs and possible office space for rent. Among the discussions was the feasibility of the project as well as whether to keep the space solely for the police department.
The old clinic is reported to be a total steel building with a brick façade. Board members have not yet finalized a design plan for the building that will house police officers who need a place to live in the area but lack adequate housing.
