Boating Safety Emphasized for Summer Fun

With boating season fast approaching it is time to brush up on boat safety. There is a long checklist that needs to be gone through long before your boat is ever moved for the season.

“Clean fuel and a good battery are the first two steps towards a great lake season” said Dillon Nickel, the proprietor of Little Sparkys Marine Service in Shattuck, Okla. Engine and lower unit oil needs to be checked for lubricity and to ensure there is no water in it. This can be either a cause of or a result of mechanical failure. While on the water a mechanical failureis at best an annoyance and can be fatally dangerous under extenuating circumstances.
