On the final Friday in July, Canton hosted a Town Meeting with special guests, Brent Almquist and Mark Wray, of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation there to discuss the upcoming construction to replace the bridge on Highway 58 over Minniehaha Creek. On a scale of 1-10, the bridge was given a five due to the damage underneath it, prompting its replacement, starting on September 8.

The family helped pioneer the commercial cattle feeding business and was one of the first Oklahoma family’s to enter large scale hog production in the 1990s.
