Safety Programs for Children and Adults

This past week brought programs to school children across western Oklahoma that focused on safety. It seems that bigger cities focus more on the normal ideas of fire and weather safety. In Oklahoma, there are many more areas of safety that are part of everyday life. Fire and weather are big concerns, of course, but so are gun, animal, powerline and grain safety, just to name a few.

This state is one where guns are everywhere. Parents teach their children how to be safe around them, but classes can be helpful too. According to representatives with H&H Shooting Sports out of Oklahoma City, one does not have to be 18 to take official gun safety classes in Oklahoma. They reported that the requirement in Oklahoma for a minor to legally attend gun safety classes is that they be accompanied by an adult.
