A new legacy never replaces an old legacy

A new political firestorm has been set off by the passing of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Considering the political environment our nation has been in for many years, the current firestorm should be of no surprise.

First, Justice Ginsburg served her country well. She was an inspirational champion for gender equality and women’s rights. In addition to serving as one of the nation’s top jurist, she was also a mother and wife, with two children. She was a disciple of the Jewish faith. She is only the second woman to serve on the nation’s highest court, after Sandra Day O’Conner.
