Junior High track wraps up season at Medford

Last Monday, the Canton Junior High track team traveled north to Medford for their final meet of the season. There, the boys managed to put up a total of 18 points to tie for 11th, while the girls’ 31 points was good enough to tie for seventh.

For the girls, Blair Dowell took second in the 300-meter hurdles. Her time of 58.42 barely edged out the third-place competitor, and earned eight points for the team. Aubrey Cheney also competed in the event, where she was able to earn an additional point for the team with her sixth-place effort of 1:00.4.

In the 200-meter dash, Kiana Whiteman took fourth place with her time of 31.02 seconds. Whiteman was also a valuable part of the relay teams that helped earn a total of 18 points in the 400, 1600 and 3200-meter relays.
