All schools should implement later start times

Starting school later has been a topic of discussion for many years among schools across the country, but the California State Legislature recently approved a bill for later start times which could affect the lives of middle and high school students in the state.

If California Gov. Gavin Newsom signs the bill, the state would be the first in the country to mandate later start times and it’s time for all other states to follow suit.

When I was in high school, which was not that long ago, I was a busy student. I participated in various clubs like the journalism club and the National Honor’s Society. I often had to stay after school to practice for dance recitals, go to tutoring and finish homework. By the time all my tasks were complete, it was time to go to bed and do it all over again the next day.
