Margaret Ann (Moore) Morris

Margaret Ann (Moore) Morris was born November 14, 1931 in Canton, Oklahoma, and departed this life Friday, August 31, 2018 in Seiling, Oklahoma. She was the third of thirteen children born to parents Bert and Eva (Goodman) Moore. Margaret was raised and went to school in Canton. She met Jack Wellington and the two were married in 1946. Three children were born into this marriage; Dennis Michael, Thomas Franklin, and Jaqueline Ann. After moving around to different locations throughout Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico they settled outside Albuquerque, New Mexico where they raised their children. Margaret moved back to Oklahoma in 1978 once Jack passed away. She married Ike “Shelby” Morris on January 18, 1980 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Once Shelby retired, they moved back to Canton and lived on a farm west of town. Margaret enjoyed having chickens, ducks, and a huge garden, but her real love was in her crocheting and quilts. She made every one of her family members a quilt for either their graduation or wedding. Her quilts are precious to so many. Margaret is survived by her two sons, two sisters Elva Byers of Cody, Wyoming and Rhetta Webber of Morgan City, Louisiana, and one brother Ricky Moore of Canton, Oklahoma, her granddaughters Stacie Louthan and husband Ryan of Chester, Oklahoma, LeAnna Thompson and husband James of Higgins, Texas, Michelle Fett and husband of Mesa Arizona, Pamela McHenry and husband of Albuquerque, New Mexico and grandsons Joseph and Jack Wellington of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Michael Wellington and wife Heather of Gilbert, Arizona. Six great grandsons, two great granddaughters, and one great great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by both her husbands, Jack Wellington and Shelby Morris, her daughter, Jackie Kopf, and step-daughter Verlda Roberts. Brothers, Dale Moore, Jimmy Moore, and Terry Moore. Sisters, Linda Whetstone, Billie Sue Quelle, Ruby Barnes, Elaine Yanos, Rebecca Rankin, Zita Dickinson, and her parents. Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Canton Christian Church with Pastor Dennis Adair officiating.
