Lahoma (Stringer) Barnett
Home going services for Mrs. Lahoma (Stringer) Barnett, 98, of Wilson were held at 10:00 AM Wednesday February 3, 2021 at the Healdton Assembly of God Church with great grandson Cole Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson. Services were under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
Lahoma was born on Dec. 23, 1922 at Oakwood, OK to the late Mr. Charles Henry Stringer and Mrs. Kathryne Ann (Beaver) Stringer. She went to her heavenly home on Sunday Jan. 31, 2021 at Wilson.
Lahoma graduated from Oakwood High School in 1942. She married the late Mr. Alva Lee Barnett on August 12, 1942. Lahoma served as a licensed Assembly of God Minister for 63 years. She also was a very accomplished seamstress, always loving to quilt. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Alva Lee Barnett who passed away August 5, 1970; daughters, Kay Lee Lankford; son, Wayne Alva Barnett; grandson, Jon Anderson; great great granddaughter, Emma Grace Southerland and great great grandson, Lucas Jack Southerland; brothers, Charles Stringer, Jr. and Lawrence Stringer; sisters, Elizabeth Tidball, Mae Ellen Roper and Lavonna Martin.
Survivors include her son, Charles Allen Barnett and wife Lana of Apache; daughter, Rose Ann Newton of Wilson; daughter in law, Melanie Barnett also of Wilson; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. numerous other family and friends.
Casket bearers are Austin Colby, Kevin Newton, Monte Newton, Bradley Newton, David Cormany and Blake Newton.
Honorary bearers are Grant Newton, Riggs Colby, Cole Newton and Brett Southerland.
