Edward Glen Paden passed away on April 7, 2017 at his home in Clovis, CA. He was born on Feb 28, 1930 in Canton, Oklahoma to Lillian (Williams) Paden and Owen James Paden. Glen grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Canton High School in 1948. Glen joined the Navy after graduation and served until 1952. During his time in the Navy he was deployed on the USS Boxer and fought in the Korean war. Glen was stationed in Alameda, California where he met his wife Eugenia Alene Dunham on a blind date. They were married March 3, 1950 and were happily married for 67 years. Alene took him to Central Baptist Church in Alameda and there he heard about a personal relationship with Jesus for the first time. Glen attended Pasadena City College, California Baptist University, and Golden Gate Seminary. Glen was called into Ministry in 1957 while living in Arcadia where he helped to plant a church. He went on to pastor Southern Baptist Churches all over California. He received his honorary doctorate degree from California Baptist University. He was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Lillian Paden; his brothers William Virgil Paden, Owen James Paden Jr., and Robert Joseph Paden, as well as his sister Alma Bernice Adams; and his daughters Janis Alene Paden, and Paula Lynell “Lynn” Higdon. He is survived by his wife Eugenia Alene Paden; daughters Deborah Anne Lewis and husband Robert, Alison Burson and husband David, Jennifer Elaine Tanaka and husband Daniel, Judith Paden Logan and husband Richard, and son-in-law Larry Higdon; 12 grandchildren Keith Larsen and wife Erin, Charissa Schlenger and husband Travis, Robert Lewis and wife Linh, Alisha Jenkins and husband DJ, Kimberly Page, Amber Holliday and husband Eddie, Tiffany Lewis, Nicholas Burson and wife Maddy, Joseph Logan and wife Hannah, Kristina Bond and husband Timothy, Matthew Tanaka, and Greg Tanaka; and 17 Great- Grandchildren, Courtney, Cassidy, Mark, Timothy, Breanne, Kevin, Bobbie, Charlotte, Jake, Audrey, Molly, Piper, Zane, Aiden, Myla, Reese, Colton, Carsen, Ben, and Owen. A memorial service will be held at Clovis Hills Community Church on Friday April 21, 2017 at 11am with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial donations be made to the Bachelors of Applied Theology (BAT) Program at California Baptist University or the Glen Paden Scholarship Fund for seminary students at the California Southern Baptist Foundation
