Angels & Butterflies

Our Senior Citizens’ hearts go out to Jack and Sharon Hicks of Canton in the loss of their son Jack Lewis Hicks in a motorcycle accident. He leaves behind his wife Sharon Hicks of Seiling, his son Brandon Hicks of Seiling, his daughter Tonya Weiland, a sister Joan Grider and husband Carl of Porterville, CA, brother Mark Hicks of Salinas, CA and other family members.

His mother works for the Canton Senior Citizens. Jack worked for Hamm & Phillips, then he set up his own business in Seiling. He will be greatly missed. My son Kenneth Benson (K.B.) will really miss him.

Charlene Heath, Twilla Alexander, Joyce Robison, and myself attended his memorial service at Elm Grove Church in Chester, OK.

There were 10 people attended the 13 pitch game at Janita Raub’s. Karen Martin brought two pizzas. They were delicious, thanks Karen. Main winners were Lois McGree and Dane Schein. They finally lost and had to move to the bottom table.

Ora Hicks Rooker is stelled in at the Fairview Nursing Home. We miss her at the Christian Church.

Congratulations to Joan and Frank Murray as they welcome a new grand. Happy birthday to Joan Murray, she had two family members join in the birthday party. Also their family got to welcome a new member to the family Tyler James Koos, born August 11, 2019 to parents Cole and Joanie (Murray) Koos. Grandparents are Frank and Joan Murray. He weighed 6 lbs and 2 ounces and has big brother Grant Koos. Best wishes to all the family.

Charlotte Williams shared the news that her grandson has bought a house in Missouri. I know Charlotte will really miss them.

Karen Smith Martin of Longdale shared this news – she was telling about her hubby Troy Martin’s garden. She said that the deer really loved Troy’s okra plants as they ate the tops off of them.

Tracy Dickey called and said she’s been going to her nephews baseball games. She also heard from Dana Moore of Enid. She’s doing fine. She is still working and her mom Shirley Moore is doing fine. Shirley was a teacher here in Canton Schools.

Congratulations to Skyelar Latham Cox as she has enrolled in her senior year of college. She will graduate a year from this December. She will have a degree in Biology, Chemistry and Math. She will be a happy young lady as her dad, Larry Coffey, will be flying over to Australia this next week for a two week visit.

My granddaughter Jessika Barthnec will be flying over to Australia in November. She will spend Thanksgiving with Skyelar and Troy and all his family. Australia doesn’t have a Thanksgiving holiday like we do. Last year Troy’s mom and dad helped the kids celebrate the holiday anyway. Skeylar really appreciated them.

I just like two more blocks and I will have my Cardinal and Cherry Blossom quilt blocks finished then I have to put it together. It will be a king sized quilt.

Next month we will be back for C.W.7. I know all of the ladies have missed the Bible study time.

Prayer list: Kayce Thompson, Paul and Penny Heath’s daughter, Keith Long and Damon Long, Nancy Hoots fighting cancer, Lanita Kephart Davis recovering from knee surgery.

Best wishes to all and a speedy recovery.
